I have set up this blog to tell people about the problems with our honey bees. I hope lots of people visit and tell their friends.

If you support me and the letter below that I am going to send to politicians then please leave a comment and I will ask politicians to come here and see that it is not just me who cares about the bees.

Even if you are not in the UK you can still comment because this affects the whole world.

Thank you for reading this. Please share this and support me and the honey bees by leaving a comment so that the politicians know you care too.

Dear Mr Politician

I am Hermione and I am eight years old.

I am worried about our honey bees because lots are dying. I think they are dying because of the varroa mite, bee diseases, the use of some agricultural chemicals and because there are not so many places where lots of mixed flowers grow. There is also the threat of Colony Collapse Disorder from the USA.

If our honey bees all die we will have less choice of food because we need bees to pollinate lots of food. There will be a lot less fruit and vegetables. We would have no bee products such as honey, propolis or wax. People who keep bees for a living would loose their jobs too.

I want people to understand how important this is. I know that the UK government has a bee and pollinator health fund. Perhaps the European Union has a similar fund? I would like you to encourage parliament to spend money on finding out about what is going wrong with the honey bees and how to help them.

I want to know if you care about our honey bees and if you will encourage parliament to use public funds to help them.

Yours sincerely

Hermione
